As part of the harbour upgrade works to the busy port of Dover, WM Plant Hire are using their 22m reach Volvo excavator to break out the existing concrete and improve the berthing facility for the car ferries. On completion of the works, the harbour will be dredged to remove any surplus material from the seabed some 13m below.

October 2005

WM Plant Hire are providing a 22m long reach machine to carry out reclamation works on the A500 highway scheme in Staffordshire. Working for Edmund Nuttall, the works involve the removal of underground obstructions and the realignment of the local watercourses at this major interchange near Stoke-on-Trent.

September 2005

Work is underway to dredge the ‘river’ at the historic Croome Park in Worcestershire, made famous for its landscape design by “Capability” Brown, which established the English Landscape Style famous throughout Europe. Brown created a lake and the mile and a half long artificial River Croome, a smaller version of the local River Severn some 250 years ago.

Taken into ownership by the National Trust in 1996, a lottery grant has provided funding for the restoration of the Park, including the second phase of dredging in August 2005 under this contract.

WM Plant Hire recently completed dredging and specialist backfill operations using their flagship 90 tonne Caterpillar 375 excavator on the construction of the North Hoyle offshore windfarms.
