July 2014

One of the longest outfall pipelines in the UK was installed on the Yorkshire coast at Bridlington.  This forms a key part of the treatment of wastewater prior to discharge and meets the government's objective of cleaner beaches.  WM Plant Hire supplied an 85 tonne long reach excavator mounted on a jack-up pontoon for the outfall trench excavation in 2013 and returned with their heavy lift CAT 365 machine to assist with the pipeline install by placing 20 tonne concrete ballast blocks.  This most challenging project was subsequently completed without incident.
