December 2015

A cliff stabilisation project on the Dorset coast used WM Plant Hire's 30 tonne long reach excavator fitted with a soil nailing mast.  With a reach of 18 metres this machine can be fitted with large attachments.

BAM Ritchies were employed to carry out these emergency works, requiring clearance of the landslip material and construction of a new embankment toe at the base of the slope.  Soil nails were then drilled deep into the rock to stabilise the cliff face and prevent any further erosion and collapse.
