March 2019

WM Plant were privileged to be a key part of the team involved in the unearthing of an iconic World War II Hawker Hurricane fighter plane in the Essex marshes this month. Its 21-year-old pilot, Paddy Hemmingway, now 99 and living in Ireland, is one of the last 5 surviving pilots from the Battle of Britain. WM Plant supplied their low ground pressure CASE CX130 machine ideal for the careful excavation of the plane some 5 metres down into the soft ground of the salt marshes.
