In the flooding area near Tewkesbury, a series of landslips along the main Cross Country rail line above the flood plain, has prompted emergency action.

The recent flooding events near Doncaster have caused undermining of the main rail line, adjacent to the problems experienced by the Ulley Dam in retaining the high water level in the reservoir.

Following the wettest June on record according to some sources, we are now carrying out essential maintenance works in the water sector.

During a 9 day blockade the CAT 330, 345 and 375 long reach machines were used to re-profile and cut a new rock face on a deep rail cutting on the South Wales branch line.

Working on a Network Rail project in north London, the rail embankment is being stabilised using soil nails.

WM Plant Hire are currently involved in several slope engineering projects, one of which is a highway project in Cardiff.

The view from the beach of Margate is somewhat different this summer, where underwater excavation for the new water treatment facility’s sea outfall is constructed.

WM Plant Hire have removed the dam holding back the water at Croome Park during the refilling of the artificial river.

WM Plant Hire has been brought in to carry out emergency works to clear material from a railway embankment slip.
